The current version of the Eye-Fi X2 card firmware is 5.0019
The current version of the Eye-Fi Classic card firmware is 3.0301

v5.0019 (7 Feb 2013)

Fixes:

• Add DHCP router options. This allows iOS devices to show it is connected and provides a work around for an Android OS bug that will crash if it isn’t provided (the ‘Avoid poor connections’ option)

NOTE: For customers with Eye-Fi X2 Cards running firmware version 4.1017 or earlier, the firmware update may result in a failure message after the 30-second countdown. If this occurs, please do not be alarmed and follow the instructions to remove your Eye-Fi Card and reinsert it. • Fixed rare NULL pointer deference while Direct Mode is deployed, but not connected to, that could manifest as “card error” symptoms
• Ensure that a fresh Wi-Fi scan is completed after a camera turns Wi-Fi back on to avoid prematurely deploying Direct Mode networks even in the presence of in-profile infrastructure networks
• Implemented various Wi-Fi interoperability and performance improvements
• Implemented private partition “auto-repair” mechanism which preserves card configuration when private partition is formatted

• Ensured that uploads of selectively-shared media are prioritized ahead of unselected media.
• The firmware now waits for all wireless channel scans to complete upon power-on to inhibit connecting to a configured infrastructure network prematurely while a configured ad hoc network is also in range.

• Fixed bug that caused Eye-Fi connected Canon cameras to not display the “uploaded” icon in photo preview mode

This firmware update alleviates wireless interoperability issues between Eye-Fi Cards and some wireless routers and access points using WPA or WPA2 encryption. Open networks or WEP networks, as well as WPA and WPA2 networks that already interoperate well are not affected.
